On June 10, 2016, Chionesu Bakari Program for Young Men (CB) celebrates it’s 10th Anniversary with it’s “sold-out” Benefit Gala & Rites of Passage Celebration at the New York LaGuardia Marriott. The Gala honors the life’s work and vision of empowering young black men of Chionesu Bakari’s Founder & Executive Director, Horace L. Moore. CB also celebrates the Rites of Passage of 8 young men who are moving on to college in the fall.

Chionesu Bakari Program for Young Men celebrates the entrance of Spring by celebrating the joyous love between Mother and Son with it’s Inaugural Mother and Son Dance, Friday, March 25, 2016 from 6 – 9:30pm. The Inaugural dance will take place in the beautiful rotunda of the Brooklyn Borough President’s office, 209 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn, NY. Chionesu Bakari (CB), is a mentoring and rites of passage program for young black males in it’s 10th Anniversary Year. The CB program model ties mentors, young men and family in an edifying successful triad that has for 10 years transformed the lives of over 300 young men from middle school to college and career.

On November 8th, 2015 The ZION GALLERY and the Painting it Forward! team graciously brought together Artists and Community Leaders to create one-of-a-kind pieces for Auction to benefit CB. Founder/Exec. Director joins Stars of NY Dance competition
Chionesu Bakari Founder/Executive Dir. Mr. Horace Moore, believing in the arts as an outlet of personal expression and growth, is excited to be apart of The Stars of New York Dance to be held in Brooklyn on Nov. 13. This years’ Dance competition honors Brooklyn Borough Pres. Eric Adams and supports scholarships and programming in the arts.
