Chionesu Bakari is a year round program, offering services to young men between the ages of 8 through 18 years of age.

Fall Program

Begins in October and ends in June. The program meets bi-weekly on Fridays from 6:00pm – 9:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am – 3:00pm. The young men participate in workshops, events and activities based on our core curriculum which includes; character development, skills development, and decision making.  During their time within the program the young men move through four stages, and are grouped according to their age.

The Chionesu Bakari Program for Young Men also includes a mandatory participating parent/guardian component in which parents are required to attend with workshops, seminars and retreats that seek to provide them with the necessary “tools” to parent their developing sons. Parent workshops/meetings are the first and third Thursday of each month from 6:45 pm until 8:30 pm (September – June); all day sessions on Saturdays are scheduled periodically throughout the year. Parent meetings in the summer are scheduled at the start of each summer session.

Summer Program

The program incorporates our standard curriculum of character development, skills development and decision making, through workshops, day trips around the tri-state to broaden exposure to history, culture and sciences.
